A recent matter against the Road Accident Fund (RAF) heard in the South Gauteng High Court was fought and succesfully settled by the leaders in this field of law, de Broglio Attorneys Inc. In this recent settlement, one of the clients of de Broglio Attorneys Inc., Johann Henning*, was cycling in a peaceful suburb near his home when he was suddenly knocked over by a motor vehicle. He suffered from various injuries as a result of the accident including a fractured jaw, broken ribs, broken teeth and decreased hearing in his left ear.
As a result of the accident, Johann found himself in a whirlwind of increasing medical expenses and pain from his injuries. He knew he had to do something and seek help.
Johann decided to claim from the RAF. He said he wanted to claim “because I had incurred quite high medical expenses. If the medical expenses hadn’t been so high I probably would not have claimed. It was the amount that was so high.”
